PAVEY ARK

Pavey Ark are a cinematic indie-folk band from Hull.

Atmospheric vocals, strings and horns glide over finger-picked guitar, melodic bass and complex percussion. The result is a beautiful orchestral-folk sound that evades immediate comparison. Upon further listening, the band’s wide range of influences start to reveal themselves – from the laid back ’60s and ’70s sound of Jackson C. Frank and Love, through to Nick Drake and Radiohead.

Known for their sublime live shows, Pavey Ark played SXSW Texas in 2025, the Glastonbury Acoustic Stage 2022 and closed Cambridge Folk Festival (Stage 3) in 2023 – huge achievements for an independent act. Their debut album ‘Close Your Eyes and Think of Nothing’ received excellent reviews from UNCUT, Record Collector, Folk Radio and BBC Radio 6 Music airplay. The album was chosen by the BBC as one of their picks for National Album Day in 2022. Their second album, More Time, More Speed, is due for release in summer 2025.

BIG DISTANCE

Made up of former members of The Beautiful South, The Mighty and The Moon and Oceaneers, Big Distance are a swampy, alt -country/soul band who put the groove into grunge!

Drawing on a rich mix of influences that stretch from Southern soul and Americana to grunge, roots rock and country, the band’s collective pedigree brings decades of songwriting, recording and live performance experience together to create a sound that is uniquely their own-earthy, atmospheric and driven by irresistible grooves.

AMELIA QUINN

There is a rare kind of artist whose work feels like a private conversation you weren’t meant to hear. Hull-born singer-songwriter Amelia Quinn is exactly that. Emerging from the UK’s fertile grassroots scene, she creates immersive, atmospheric alt-pop and dream-folk that maps the fault lines of growing up, pulling raw vulnerability directly into the light.

Her sonic signature pairs angelic, breathy vocal highs with the moody, nostalgic textures of 90s icons like Mazzy Star, The Sundays, and The Cranberries. Backed by regional champions like BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, her debut EP Softening the Edges (Warren Records) cemented her status as a formidable rising force. Celebrated for a captivating live presence that seamlessly flows from delicate acoustic intimacy to soaring, layered crescendos, Amelia Quinn creates a beautiful sanctuary for anyone navigating the chaos of modern youth.
